There is a good news coming out of Samsung official blog. The company is all set to release the official Ice Cream Sandwich update for all Samsung Galaxy S2 devices on March 13. The update will roll out today so all of you having Samsung Galaxy S2 device (GT 9100), get ready for the Android 4.0.

How To Upgrade Samsung Galaxy S2 to Ice Cream Sandwich Update

Those who have been using Android for a long time or have upgraded their device with latest Android version earlier, they must be knowing how to get Ice Cream Sandwich update. For new Android users, updating the Android version is simple process. As this is the official update, you just need to make sure that you have installed latest Samsung Kies software, which you can download from the official Samsung website.

After you have downloaded latest version of Samsung Kies, just follow the following instructions carefully to get your Samsung Galaxy S2 updated to Android Ice Cream Sandwich.

  1. Run Samsung Kies program.
  2. Connect data cable to PC USB port.
  3. Power on device and connect to data cable.
  4. Wait for Samsung Kies to recognize the device.
  5. Samsung Kies will display pop-up window to alert if there is a software update available. Click update to begin software upgrade process.
  6. Check ‘I’ve read all the above information.
  7. Select information saving option.
  8. Click ‘Start Upgrade’.

Now don’t disconnect your PC until the upgrade is done. According to the download notes, the ICS upgrade brings Face Unlock, Android Beam, the new Data Management tool, while also offering improved multi-tasking. South Korea si the first country where Samsung has finally rolled out the ICS updates to Samsung Galaxy S2.

Poland, Sweden, and Hungaryare one of the first few countries who will be getting ICS update. It seems like UK and other countries, along with India,  will have to wait a little more  (April 30 is being expected) to get hands on with ICS. So be ready to get Ice Cream Sandwich update on your Samsung Galaxy S2 device.

  16. March 13, pftt……It’s 27th April, if you’re not releasing the software soon, atleast inform us of the status, and when can we actually expect the update.Also will all the application and data have to be formatted for this updates, i sincerely hope not.
